Lathem Time Launches Shiftplan(TM)EZ Employee Scheduling Software

Integration with Lathem's PayClock EZ and QuickBooks Provides Small Businesses a Complete Labor Management Solution

ATLANTA, Ga. - May 7, 2003 - Lathem Time Corporation, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of time and labor management products for small business, today announced the launch of ShiftPlan(TM) EZ, an employee scheduling tool that allows companies to plan and print employees' schedules with just a few mouse clicks.

ShiftPlan, which integrates with Lathem's No. 1-selling timekeeping system for small business, PayClock(TM) EZ, and Intuit's QuickBooks® Pro and Premier, is an easy-to-use scheduling system, allowing users to create staff schedules in seconds and avoid scheduling conflicts. With ShiftPlan, users can schedule staff weeks, months, or even years in advance, allowing for better planning and avoidance of staff shortages.

Among its benefits, ShiftPlan lets users produce clean, professional-looking schedules for up to 25 individual daily shifts and up to 150 employees; schedule by department or position; improve scheduling accuracy; create scheduled-to-actual and tardy reports; analyze employee punch trends to help reduce overtime pay and payroll costs; eliminate redundant data entry; and save time.

"Staff scheduling is one of the most time-consuming and difficult tasks managers face today," said Philip Seagraves, director of business development for Lathem Time. "ShiftPlan not only saves users time by helping them create their schedules, it unites employee schedules with actual time worked to better manage staffing and payroll issues."

ShiftPlan allows users to create professional schedules and reports for all employees. Employee names can be entered manually or automatically imported from PayClock EZ or QuickBooks Pro/Premier Editions 2003. Once employee names are in ShiftPlan, the user defiles shifts and builds employee schedules.

"When you combine the individual needs of employees with the need to have the right skills and coverage in the work environment, scheduling can be very complex, even for small
businesses," said Seagraves said. "ShiftPlan makes managing employee schedules simple and efficient by putting a visual tool in the hands of managers that allows them to actually plan work
schedules in advance and print schedules for groups or individuals."
