Latest Version of Telemecanique® Vijeo Look(TM) SCADA Software Improves Real-Time Functionality With Embedded OPC Communications
PALATINE, Ill. - NOVEMBER 21, 2005 - Real-time communications is now simplified with any programmable logic controller with the introduction of embedded OPC software in the latest version of Telemecanique® Vijeo Look(TM) SCADA software from Schneider Electric. Vijeo Look v2.6 works out of the box with any Modicon® PLC and can be configured to work with third-party PLCs as well.
Real-time data acquisition is performed using OPC Factory Server(TM) v3.2, which is included in Vijeo Look software or available separately. The enhanced communications capabilities mean it is able to retrieve up to 5,000 variables in less than 60 seconds. The software's configurator loop also automatically prompts a user if a network device cannot be found, allowing remedial action to be taken.
Flexible and cost-effective, Vijeo Look v2.6 software is an all-in-one package that includes basic program features and graphical tools as well as many other preconfigured capabilities in addition to communications. A new extra-large version of the software also accommodates up to 2,048 I/O. An enhanced data-logging process automatically purges old data based on user-defined parameters.
The software automatically accepts variable tables from Unity(TM)-compliant PLCs, including Modicon, Quantum(TM) and Premium(TM) PLCs, simplifying PLC communications. Russian has also been added as one of six standard languages. In addition, Vijeo Look v2.6 incorporates a simplified, more user-friendly software registration and authorization process.
