DB2 Records Manager V4.1.1 Offers Enhanced Security and the Ability to Handle Classified Records



Overview
The IBM industry-leading portfolio of records management and content management products, solutions, and services are designed to provide cost-effective means of addressing
the functional requirements of laws, regulations, and records
management policies. At the core of this portfolio is DB2® Records Manager, in conjunction with DB2 Content Manager, and related content management products that deliver sophisticated electronic recordkeeping capability across multiple business solutions, including e-mail document management.

DB2 Records Manager V4.1.1 delivers significant enhancements to
all aspects of electronic records management capabilities, featuring:
o Enhanced security model, including the ability to handle
classified records
o File plan and administration improvements
o Easier integration with business applications
o High-performance operations for large-scale implementations
DB2 Records Manager has been certified for U.S. DoD 5015.2 June 2002-STD Chapter 4 management of classified records and security requirements, and is compliant with similar requirements of the U.K. National Archives 2002 (TNA 2002) standard for security-sensitive classified documents. IBM has formally submitted the DB2 Records Manager-based solution, IBM
Content Management for Recordkeeping, U.K. Edition, in response to the questionnaire for submission of an ERMS product for
testing as prescribed by the U.K. National Archives 2002 approval process.

DB2 Records Manager for Messaging V4.1.1 may be used to apply formal records management control to e-mail and other messaging
applications. This provides capabilities such as time and
event-based records retention, and the ability to suspend (place a legal hold on records). This product is to be used only to apply records management capabilities to messaging and messaging archival applications.
