BIO-key Announces the Availability of its IdentityMatch(TM) Fingerprint Identification Solution

Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies Endorse IdentityMatch Solution to Capitalize on their Existing Fingerprint Records

WALL, N.J., March 2 / -- BIO-key International, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: BKYI) , a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announces the general availability of its new IdentityMatch(TM) automated fingerprint identification system. IdentityMatch provides law enforcement with the capability to store and search fingerprints and associated demographic data in a local or regional database where it can be used in a variety of ways, including:
-- Real-time suspect identification for locally stored records, replacing queries that would otherwise swamp already overloaded state and federal systems
-- Quick, positive identification of persons utilizing any one of a variety of inexpensive single-slap fingerprint readers attached to a desktop or mobile data computer
-- Positive identification of persons through the criminal justice system, including prisoner movements
-- Rendering rows of file cabinets obsolete, replacing them with a computer system that performs online fingerprint matching in real time, saving space and putting the information collected on 10-print cards to the use they were intended: identifying suspects and solving crimes.

IdentityMatch allows law enforcement personnel to capture fingerprints in the field and using BIO-key's patented Vector Segment Technology(R), then analyzes and categorizes fingerprints the same way a fingerprint expert would -- only faster. IdentityMatch also enables multiple law enforcement agencies to regionally share fingerprint data with other agencies.

"The capabilities represented in the IdentityMatch product should not only provide a platform for incremental change in agency operations -- it may revolutionize them. The ability to quickly and efficiently develop persons of interest or potential suspects will provide an enormous advantage for law enforcement. Add that to the capabilities of accurately identifying persons in the field and in-facility, and this single solution provides one of the best cost-benefit ratios since wireless computing," according to Rob Chaffee, IT Services Director for The Corban Group of St. Paul, Minn., who works with numerous Midwestern agencies reviewing and deploying next generation technology.

Rusty Kahrs, Commissioner of Pettis County, Mo. added, "What appeals to me about IdentityMatch, and how we envision its primary use in our agency, is the ability to integrate it with our jail and court system. First to identify the correct prisoner is being moved and then to make sure all the correct information about the prisoner being transported to court is sent electronically, including medical records."

According to Lieutenant James D. Hashem, commander, Andover, Mass. Police Department, "We look forward to doing real-time processing of latent prints. In our current system, we experience delays when we send the prints to the state system for identification that can be eliminated by matching locally with the IdentityMatch system. Going forward, we hope to share this information with neighboring communities so they too can benefit from a lower cost, more responsive alternative."

"IdentityMatch, BIO-key's first integrated biometric/public safety product enables law enforcement agencies quick and accurate access to forensic and criminal identification information on a local basis," said Mike DePasquale, CEO of BIO-key. "Our 1,300+ law enforcement customers as well as many other law enforcement agencies can immediately take advantage of this capability. Until now no one company has offered mobile and wireless access to both critical criminal justice information as well as fingerprint and identity management information on a single integrated platform. Once again, BIO-key is leading the way," continued DePasquale.
