Invensys Announces Enhancements to Decision Support Software Solution

Latest release of award-winning Avantis.DSS solution provides added business analytics capabilities

DALLAS, TEXAS, USA (INVENSYS CUSTOMER CONFERENCE) - December 4, 2006 - The Avantis (www.avantis.net) unit of Invensys Process Systems today announced new software enhancements that further improve Avantis' award-winning maintenance and purchasing analytics for manufacturing and executive decision-makers.

The new software builds on the Avantis.DSS web-based decision support solution, which transforms transactional data into visible, meaningful and actionable business analytics based on the individual's specific role in the organization.

Capabilities of the new Avantis.DSS 1.1 software include:
oWider selection of parameters and functions that provide increased detail for analysis of progress
oMore options for creating personal key performance indicators (KPIs)
oDeeper drill-through capabilities for cost analysis
oIncreased capabilities for developing trending insight

The new software supports the Avantis goal of increased knowledge, not just more data, to support asset performance management decision-making processes. The foundation Avantis.DSS software structure has three primary components: data extraction, aggregation and visualization. The data extraction component, built on Microsoft technology, extracts and transforms data for application-specific analysis. The aggregation component aggregates data into cubes for easier manipulation. The visualization component uses Microsoft Office Web components to manipulate and display the KPIs on industry standard dashboards.

Avantis.DSS software was named the 2006 Breakthrough Product of the Year by the editors of Processing Magazine. In support of this recognition, Dave Wiedenfeld, Group Project Leader, IT, of CF Industries' Louisiana facility, said, "We installed Avantis.DSS in November 2005, and it paid for itself almost immediately. We consider Avantis.DSS to truly be a breakthrough product that turns raw data into business intelligence to improve our performance." CF Industries is a major North American manufacturer and distributor of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer products.

Avantis.DSS provides a key component in the Invensys Process Systems offering of the industry's most comprehensive solution for total enterprise asset performance management. It brings management easy-to-access tools that help view asset performance at all levels. For more information on Avantis.DSS, contact info@avantis.net or visit www.avantis.net
