Arcom to Debut MasterSpec® Small Projects(TM) Version 2003

(Salt Lake City, May 8, 2003) ARCOM will debut SMALL PROJECT Version 2003, which offers users more specification sections and extensive background information than ever before at The AIA Expo in San Diego, CA.

The library offers 195 abbreviated specification sections for projects modest in size, scope, and complexity as well as those brief in duration. Unlike previous versions, users can now license Version 2003 with up-to-date MASTERSPEC supporting reference documents and Internet resources for each section. These reference materials represent extensive research on products, manufacturers, construction technology, and standards. ARCOM has developed over 25 new sections and has reviewed and updated existing sections. Each section follows CSI guidelines and covers construction topics from Divisions 1 through 16.

SMALL PROJECT is the only automated construction specification system created especially for use with AIA Documents A105/A205 and B155. It can be used for residential, light commercial, facilities management, renovation, design-build, and interior fit-out work. It can also be used for projects that are negotiated or where the owner and contractor have a prior working relationship.

With SMALL PROJECT, users get the integrity of the MASTERSPEC specification system, the leading master guide specification system and product selection tool for over 30 years. SMALL PROJECT and its supporting documents are written by a staff of experienced master specification writers and reviewed by committees of practicing design and specification professionals.

MASTERSPEC, a product of The American Institute of Architects, is produced and distributed by ARCOM, who also develops companion software systems for specification editing and production. First developed in 1969, MASTERSPEC is exclusively endorsed or recommended by major industry professional organizations, including ACEC, AIA, ASID, ASLA, CASE, CSI, IIDA, NLA (ANLA), and NSPE.

Salt Lake City, UT ARCOM is a Salt Lake City-based firm with an office in Alexandria, VA. The company employs over 45 full-time specification development professionals, including: researchers, writers, software developers, technical support staff, and customer service professionals.
