Software promotes geographic business intelligence.

Press Release Summary:

Country- and data-independent, Portfolio(TM) v6.3 has methodology with which users assign geography to spatial data selection. This provides optimized control based on criteria such as minimum area and multiple match assignments. Methodology also offers spatial assignments for point-based geographies. Geography relationships are assigned based on point-in-polygon, so geography that Point ZIP Code falls within is where assignment is made regardless of any other potential relationships.

SRC Simplifies Data and Software Licensing with Release of Portfolio(TM) Version 6.3

Latest 2008 to 2013 geodemographic data now is available to SRC customers

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 13 -- SRC, LLC, a leading developer and provider of geographic business intelligence technology, announced the release of Version 6.3 for its popular desktop Portfolio(TM) platform today at the DMA's Annual Conference, DMA08, the largest gathering of marketers in the world.

The enhancements delivered in Portfolio Version 6.3 include a new license manager that creates an automated and seamless way for customers to manage software licensing across Portfolio and the SRC product offerings using a single license file. The license manager will speed and simplify software updates associated with up to nine key SRC technology components, now with a single click of a mouse.

With Portfolio 6.2, the methodology with which users assign a geography to a spatial data selection was upgraded, to give users more control based on criteria like minimum area and multiple match assignments. With 6.3 this methodology has been enhanced even further to offer spatial assignments for point based geographies, like Point ZIP Codes. These geography relationships are assigned based on point-in-polygon, so the geography that the Point ZIP Code falls within is where the assignment is made regardless of any other potential relationships. This enhancement completes the upgrade and allows for a comprehensive view of relationships across all geography types.

Annual enhancements to the platform's geodemographic data sets, coupled with Portfolio's ease-of-use, speed and extensive control over data quality and integration, ensure that SRC's customers always have access to the latest demographic variables and projections-critical ingredients that today's leading enterprises rely upon to drive efficiency and productivity within their organization's business intelligence strategies.

"This latest release of the Portfolio offering continues SRC's essential product enhancements to continually assist clients in maintaining relevant and reliable deployments of their global geographic business intelligence solutions," said Amy Holland, SRC's vice president, Product Management. "With the Portfolio 6.3 enhancements, our customers remain well-equipped to make informed strategic and tactical decisions, and to succeed in aligning their corporate goals with the changing realities in the market."

Portfolio serves global enterprises in need of a geographic business intelligence solution that is truly country and data independent. Whether deployed for a single desktop user or across an organization's international network of workgroup communities, the Portfolio platform provides an extensive application programming interface (API) to support scalable, flexible, and robust desktop, enterprise and Web application development.
