Wonderware Provides Secure, Web-Enhanced Portal SuiteVoyager 2.0 Enables Access To Information Anytime, Anywhere

LAKE FOREST, Calif., July 15, 2002 -- Wonderware, an operating unit of Invensys plc, today announced the release of SuiteVoyager(TM) 2.0, a new software portal for the manufacturing automation industry.

SuiteVoyager 2.0 leverages new Internet technologies and integrates enhancements and features based on customer input. The portal's Web-accessible, low-cost architecture provides the infrastructure to deliver information to diverse users. It enables people at any level of an organization to view information pertinent to them, understand what's driving it and improve the way it is managed throughout the organization.

SuiteVoyager is a scalable, extensible and multilingual manufacturing information portal, which allows users to visualize plant floor information coming from any Wonderware application including InTouch(R), I/O servers and IndustrialSQL Server(TM) historian. As a browser-based portal, users can easily access factory data via the Internet or intranet.

"This product delivers information users need, anytime they need to see it, from anywhere in the world," said Renee Robinson, Wonderware's product marketing manager for visualization products. "We intentionally designed this product so that engineers who design graphical windows can completely deploy and configure a SuiteVoyager 2.0 portal. Knowledge of Web design or HTML is unnecessary. They can use simple point-and-click, drag-and-drop technology to build a powerful, useful portal."

SuiteVoyager 2.0 is a component of Wonderware's industrial intelligence offering, which includes a rich client toolset; desktop reporting and data mining tools; statistical process control analysis; and Web visualization. It also is compatible with the new ArchestrA(TM) platform, which has been developed by Invensys for future automation development needs.

"SuiteVoyager 2.0 offers Web services and industrial automation, which means users can access any database information located anywhere in the world, through a firewall with only Port 80 open," Robinson said. "In addition, SuiteVoyager 2.0 can be placed inside a DMZ because it can communicate through firewalls. Wonderware realizes that protecting corporate information is a top priority and focuses on keeping information secure."
