IBM Rational Purify Software is Now Available Through the IBM Passport Advantage Program
Overview
IBM Rational® PurifyPlus software, currently available through the Passport Advantage® program, contains three runtime analysis
feature sets:
o Purify® software for memory leak and error detection
o Quantify® software for bottleneck detection
o PureCoverage® software for code coverage analysis
In response to high customer demand, the Purify feature set is now offered as a stand-alone solution. You can purchase both Purify and PurifyPlus licenses through the Passport Advantage program.
As with IBM Rational PurifyPlus, IBM Rational Purify supports multiple platforms. You can choose between two platform distributions:
o IBM Rational Purify for Microsoft(TM) Windows(TM)
o IBM Rational Purify for Linux and UNIX®

Key prerequisites
Rational Purify for Windows
o Pentium(TM) III, Pentium 4, Xeon.
o 500 MHz, or higher.
o 256 MB RAM required, 512 MB RAM recommended; more memory generally improves responsiveness.
o Swap space: 2 x physical memory.
o 600 x 800 x 256-color video resolution, or higher; high color
or true color recommended.
o Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device.
o Disk space to install: 140 MB.
o Additional disk space depends on the number and size of .exe and .dll files being instrumented. As a rough guide, expect
instrumented modules to be 50% bigger than the original module.
Rational Purify for Linux and UNIX
o Linux (Pentium III, Pentium 4 Xeon), Solaris (SPARC,
UltraSPARC), HP (PA-RISC) SGI(MIPS).
o 500 MHz, or higher.
o 256 MB RAM required, 512 MB RAM recommended; more memory generally improves responsiveness.
o Swap space: 2 x physical memory.
o 600 x 800 x 256-color video resolution, or higher; high color
or true color recommended.
o Disk space to install: 25 MB.
o Additional disk space depends on the number and size of
executable and shared object files being instrumented. As a rough guide, expect instrumented modules to be 50% bigger than
the original module.
