Websense(R) Launches Two New Web Security Suites to Close Time and Technology Gaps Left Open by Existing Security Technology

New Suites Provide Proactive Protection Against Phishing Attacks, Brand Theft, and Website Hacking With BrandWatcher(TM) and SiteWatcher(TM) Services

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 14 -- Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ:WBSN), the world's leading provider of employee internet management solutions, today announced the release of two new integrated web security solutions. Available tomorrow, the Websense(R) Web Security Suite(TM) closes the window of exposure between when a vulnerability is exploited to when a remedy becomes available. In addition, Websense Web Security Suite fills the technology gap within a network infrastructure by providing advanced web security for mitigating spyware, malicious mobile code (MMC), phishing attacks, instant messaging (IM) attachments, peer-to-peer (P2P) and other web-based threats.

Offered in two versions, the Web Security Suite and Web Security Suite -- Lockdown Edition allow an organization to complement its existing antivirus and network security infrastructure to protect against security breaches and malicious code outbreaks. When looking at effectiveness of antivirus alone, according to the 2004 CSI/FBI Computer Crime and Security Survey, although 99% of companies use antivirus software, 78% of them were hit by viruses, worms, etc. Adding an additional layer of defense to work in conjunction with traditional network security including antivirus and firewalls, the Web Security Suite protects employees with a comprehensive security solution at the internet gateway and network. SiteWatcher is a value-added service which alerts customers once identified that their company website has been infected with MMC.
