GLOBALedit® Unleashes High-Speed Digital Photo Collaboration
3.4 release addresses access and control needs of distributed organizations
NEW YORK, Feb. 7 /-- Industrial Color, the leader in digital photography capture and workflow services, today announced the release of GLOBALedit(R) 3.4, the latest enhancement to its professional online image management system. GLOBALedit provides professional creative teams with global access to massive photo collections and a suite of workflow tools that connect creative and business communities.
The system is available as a hosted or licensed solution for professional digital photo organizations and departments. The 3.4 release builds on the version 3 platform which is gaining widespread adoption with photo agencies, professional photographers and enterprise photo departments.
GLOBALedit 3.4 introduces an array of directly integrated capabilities that further enable digital and collaborative workflow. These features respond to customer demand for greater access and control over the production and distribution of digital photography and rich media.
-- GLOBALxfer replaces slow FTP solutions with integrated high-speed file transfer technology, powered by Aspera(TM), that boosts the transfer of files up to 100x the speed of FTP or HTTP. GLOBALedit clients, who move terabytes of content through the system each year, can now transfer high resolution image files at a fraction of the time.
-- Library Manager broadens user access, allowing direct content upload to the GLOBALedit library, and collaborative drag and drop content management from any standard web browser. Users can upload, create, rename, move or delete files and folders directly from their preferred client interface.
-- Image Generator, GLOBALrouter, Image Rights and Download Tracker provide users with advanced conversion and control services. User assets, jobs and collections can be repurposed, transformed and routed to multiple locations with full access control and tracking.
"The results we're seeing from GLOBALxfer and High Speed File Transfer are astonishing," said Aaron Holm, GLOBALedit's Vice President of Development and Integration. "In typical cross country upload tests with clients moving multi-gigabyte files, we are able to reduce upload time of high resolution files from over 1 hour using a standard FTP connection down to only 6 minutes using GLOBALxfer. This is truly a game changer that creates new possibilities for collaboration regardless of the distance between locations."
Andrew Eccles, world renowned photographer, touted the GLOBALedit platform. "The pace of innovation that's taking place with GLOBALedit is amazing. With each release, we have more core tools to manage shoots and our photo archive."
