Azure Launches Certo 2 with Resounding Tier-One Carrier Support

New Global Customers Sign on for Automated Revenue-Assurance Detection and Correction for Current and Next-Generation, IP-Based Network Operations

LONDON and WESTMINSTER, Colo., Jan. 24 -- Azure Solutions, the global revenue-assurance company, today announced the availability of Certo 2, the latest version of its automated revenue-assurance solution designed to help operators analyze, detect and correct revenue-leakage problems in real time. Certo 2 is designed to meet the demands of high-volume, next-generation tier-one networks while, at the same time, lowering the time and effort needed to deploy and manage an enterprise-grade revenue-assurance program. Azure also announced that two new global tier-one operators, a wireline provider and a wireless carrier, have purchased Certo 2.

Major new capabilities of Certo 2 include:
o Integrated and transparent processing of both usage and subscription data
o Improved KPI capabilities that empower customers to easily set parameters based on their needs -- represented graphically via dashboards
o Huge scale processing (billions of CDRs per day) for IP, content, triple-play and convergent networks
o Simplified user interface that speeds deployment time at less cost -- resulting in accelerated revenue recovery and faster ROI

A recent study by telecoms analyst firm Analysys Research(1) revealed that global telecommunications operators lost an estimated $170 billion in 2005 due to fraud and leakage caused by operational process issues. Certo 2 uses advanced process automation to provide end-to-end visibility and control of the entire revenue lifecycle -- faster, more cost-effectively and with greater accuracy and fewer resources than any other solution on the market. And because Certo 2 interfaces with existing revenue-assurance applications and integrates results into a single monitoring and control mechanism, operators can preserve, even increase, the value of their existing revenue-assurance investments.

"We believe Certo 2 sets a new standard for automated revenue assurance and having several early customer deployments certainly helps validate that claim," said John Cronin, chief executive officer and president of Azure Solutions. "With threats from fraud and growing network complexity steadily increasing, telecoms providers are aggressively working to stem the tide of revenue leakage. By increasing both the capacity and ease-of-use of the Certo platform, this powerful tool meets the incredible demands of large enterprises and provides the flexibility and visibility operators need to deploy highly effective, comprehensive revenue-assurance programs."

With Certo 2, carriers have the ability to deploy, manage and grow automated revenue-assurance programs through a common, scalable software architecture that is easy to modify and hardware- and database-independent. It provides the performance, flexibility and breadth of functionality needed to restore data integrity and reduce revenue losses for wireline, wireless, data and cable operators. It enables customers not only to detect revenue loss, but also help with the investigation, diagnosis and recovery of potential lost revenues.

Certo 2 complements Azure's industry leading fraud and interconnect solutions for both subscription and usage assurance. It provides automated protection in the following areas:
o Retail usage assurance -- for pre-paid and post-paid services
o Interconnect settlement assurance -- for incoming and outgoing traffic
o Roaming clearing assurance -- for TAP-in and TAP-out
o Content assurance -- subscriber charges and out-payments
o Subscription assurance -- recurring fees for provision of services
o Stranded assets -- identification and reuse of network resources
o Cost control -- such as route optimization

Available now as licensed software, Certo 2 can be deployed in-house, or as an externally hosted, fully managed service.
