IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms V1.2 Helps Improve Application Availability for Linux and AIX Environments



Overview
With V1.2, IBM Tivoli® System Automation for Linux is renamed to
IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms. V1.2 of IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (System Automation)
provides high availability for business applications, running in
SUSE LINUX, Red Hat Linux, and AIX® standalone systems, and in
clusters, by:
o Discovering system, application, and resource failures
o Deciding recovery actions using policy-based availability goals and sophisticated knowledge about application components and their relationships
o Detecting outages and providing quick and consistent recovery of affected failed resources and applications

Helps reduce automation costs and implementation time
Unlike most automation products, IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms is policy-based, requiring no extensive programming skills. New resources or systems can be added without writing or rewriting scripts. Policies can now be saved and restored.
