Antepo(TM) OPN Server(TM) External Connector Allows Secure External Access To Corporate IM

New York, NY - Mar. 18, 2004 - Antepo (www.antepo.com), the world's foremost provider of standards-based, carrier-class, enterprise IM systems, today announced a new standards-based software module allowing organizations to securely extend their corporate Instant Messaging network to customers and business partners.

Now included in the Antepo OPN System 4.0 license, the OPN Server's External Connector enables secure and granular client-server access to internal collaboration environments for defined users, as well as routed interconnection between separate communities of XMPP and SIP/SIMPLE based servers from multiple vendors, allowing the creation of value added, cross enterprise communities. The Antepo OPN Server External Connector allows for authentication credentials and usage permissions to be administered directly through the organization's corporate directory and enforced by the Antepo OPN System. Administrators can implement directory-driven rules to isolate traffic within pre-defined domains and groups, leveraging OPN Server's built-in domain and role filters.

"When it comes to extending Enterprise Instant Messaging use to customers and partners, most corporations today rely on consumer networks, creating an administration challenge and serious security breaches, making the online workplace vulnerable." says Maxime Seguineau, CEO of Antepo. "With the OPN Server External Connector, businesses ease the well-identified pain-point of external IM communication".

The Antepo OPN System 4.0 allows businesses to migrate away from consumer products and proprietary IM approaches to a secure, standards-based, scalable infrastructure. Companies can use the Antepo OPN System 4.0 to uniformly deploy Instant Messaging within their organization, to integrate with their directories and other collaboration platforms and to securely communicate with business partners and customers, while meeting security, management and compliance requirements.
