InduSoft Import Tool for PanelBuilder(TM) Modernizes Old PLC Systems
Software helps users, systems integrators, OEMs and machine builders upgrade old PanelView(TM) stations to modern PC-based systems.
Austin, Texas - February 23, 2004 - The Import Tool for PanelBuilder add-on to InduSoft Web Studio(TM) (IWS) imports PanelBuilder32 applications running on old Rockwell Automation PanelView stations; converts the screens to run on any PC-based device running Microsoft® Windows(TM); and allows screens to be viewed over the Internet or an Intranet with a standard browser. The Import Tool for PanelBuilder makes it easy to modernize an old automation or control system with modem PC hardware and software.
PanelBuilder HMI screens and applications can be duplicated exactly, or they can be updated using standard Indusoft Web Studio tools. For users who want to upgrade an old control system, IWS allows the addition of OPC, XML, TCP/IP, communications drivers for more than 200 different protocols, PDA-based HMIs, security, trends, alarms, recipes, math scripts, schedulers and many other functions. This allows a user to retain the original controls, yet add more functionality to the existing system.
For users who do not wish to alter an application, the software makes an exact copy, allowing use of more modem technology for operator stations.
To make a conversion, a user simply requests an existing PanelBuilder system to create a PanelBuilder Report file; this file can be converted into IWS format and downloaded to any suitable device.
The Import Tool for PanelBuilder creates applications that run on any device based on Windows NT/2000/XP/.NET(TM), CE and CE NET operating systems, including workstations, PCs, panel PCs, handhelds, PDAs and picture cell phones. The tool operates as an add-on to Indusoft Web Studio.
