Upgrade Adds Features, Versatility To Yaskawa's DriveWizard(TM) Software

NEW BERLIN, Wis., March 10, 2003 - Yaskawa's new DriveWizard(TM) software, Version 5.3, makes startup, commissioning and troubleshooting of Yaskawa drives simpler than ever.

Windows®-based DriveWizard(TM) provides a complete set of user-friendly tools for viewing and manipulating data to and from the drive. Data can be retrieved, changed, stored and graphed with a few simple mouse clicks.

Supports All Generation Seven Yaskawa Drives
New DriveWizard(TM) Version 5.3 supports all generation seven Yaskawa AC drives, including the HVAC-Specific E7.

New Version 5.3 provides users with record keeping, maintenance, trouble-shooting and machine startup capabilities from a single software tool, including:
o Full parameter editing with parameter "help"
o Online monitoring and graphing of all monitored variables
o Remote control drive testing
o Drive initialization control
o File saving of parameters and graphs for offline programming and analysis
o Import/ Export of drive parameters by CSV files.
o Change speed and motor rotation direction while the drive is running

Create New Parameter Files
DriveWizard(TM) assists the user in creating new parameter files from scratch. The user selects the drive type, model number, voltage and kW ratings and control mode. The software then creates a complete parameter file for the selected drive using factory default values.

"Parameter Difference" Tab.
A new "Difference" tab on the parameter editor spreadsheet dynamically shows any parameters -- on or offline -- that differ from factory default settings (values in red or blue). Contents of the tab can also be printed out.

Auto-Tune Support
DriveWizard(TM) Version 5.3 supports Yaskawa's generation seven AC drives auto-tune features, allowing performance of any of the available auto-tuning functions online. A convenient table shows key motor parameters before and after the auto-tuning sequence enabling the user to see which parameters were changed by the auto-tune. Status and fault displays keep the user informed of progress and any errors occurring during the auto-tune.

Communications, Print Setups
DriveWizard Version 5.3 supports any available Windows® COM port, from COM port 1 to COM port 99, allowing Windows XP users with USB-only comnputers access to USB-to-serial port converters.

DriveWizard(TM) Print Setup now allows selection and properties setup for any installed printer in the Windows® operating system.
