Centennial Software's Discovery 2005 Delivers 100% IT Asset Visibility and New Decision Support Tools
Portland, Ore. - June 7, 2005 - Centennial Software, a leading developer of IT asset discovery and security management solutions, today announced the release of Discovery 2005(TM), the latest release of the industry's leading point-solution for network inventory and IT asset management. The new Discovery.Dashboard is designed to provide different organizational stakeholders with unique and dynamic user-configurable summary reports. Furthermore, it makes it easy to see specific IT asset configurations, usage and location details with the click of a mouse. For example, by using the Discovery.Dashboard web interface, executives can instantly determine how much of their software portfolio is at risk for a BSA or SIIA compliance audit - or what assets can be redeployed to avoid new purchase costs.
With software compliance and license management high on the CIO to-do list, Discovery 2005 also makes it easier for organizations to get a better understanding of their software assets. With the new Discovery.Portal, CIOs and IT managers can not only see how many licenses are actually being used before negotiating a renewal contract, they can also dynamically access additional software information found on their networks, such as who developed it, whether it is licensable, and what the software actually does.
