Compuware Strengthens End-to-End Service Management Solution

Compuware Vantage 10 Integrates Java and .NET Application Analytics and Business Impact Metrics with End-user Experience

DETROIT--April 3, 2007--Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today introduced Compuware Vantage 10, a sophisticated service-management solution that enables IT organizations to manage application service from a business perspective. This next-generation Compuware Vantage solution integrates comprehensive end-user experience monitoring with deep Java and .NET application analytics, as well as business impact metrics. These new capabilities enable business-driven problem prioritization and resolution, as well as systematic improvement of service delivery. In addition, Compuware Vantage 10 provides the means for IT organizations to employ business-relevant metrics to measure and manage VoIP service.

"Application performance and availability management are important requirements for delivering application service levels that meet end-user requirements," said Tim Grieser, VP System Management Software Research, IDC. "Compuware has demonstrated that it understands these needs by providing a comprehensive set of software to monitor and analyze application performance with the Compuware Vantage suite, which brings together infrastructure component views (client, server, network), application views, as well as transaction and end-user views."

Compuware Vantage provides a comprehensive approach to end-user experience monitoring through scripted transactions and actual end-user monitoring. New integration to detailed application analytics provides visibility into the performance of application servers for web and SOA applications through instrumentation of application platforms and packaged applications. This seamless integration increases IT's ability to deliver service excellence, to provide more responsive problem resolution and to increase cross-silo collaboration.

"End-to-end service management is critical when supporting our large geographies of remote users. Compuware Vantage provides visibility into end-user experience and enables us to quickly drill down to analytics for Java applications," said Todd Birkenholtz, Enterprise Monitoring Solutions Team, FBL Financial Group, Inc. "Through this proactive problem-solving, we've dramatically reduced resolution time and ensure high levels of service."

Newly incorporated business impact metrics provide the ability to measure the actual number of users and the maximum number of potential users affected by a performance or availability problem. This critical information enables IT to prioritize and respond to problems based on actual business impact, increasing IT's ability to more effectively manage application service.

"IT organizations lack visibility into the impact the Java and .NET tiers have on end-user experience. As web-based applications become more mission critical and complex, IT requires an end-to-end view of end-user response time and the application metrics that contribute to service delivery," said Steve Tack, Director of Product Management, Compuware Corporation. "Compuware Vantage's full spectrum of end-user experience monitoring coupled with both the Java and .NET analytics provides customers a solution that is unique in the industry. This release provides the foundation for Compuware's integrated solution with the recently acquired Proxima Technology Centauri, which will be released in the next quarter."

Compuware Vantage also monitors VoIP as a network-based application in the context of other applications competing for network resources. Compuware Vantage 10 provides new management-level reports that display the overall health of VoIP service, including the number of degraded calls. Further drill-down provides additional VoIP and network metrics to assist with problem resolution and trend analysis.
