Eclipse Fully Links Front Office To Plant Floor Production Pulse

St. Louis - March 25, 2003 - The Eclipse Production Management System, developed by AMS Controls, Inc., puts front office hands on the real-time production pulse of every machine on the plant floor.

Eclipse is an integrated production management software system that effectively connects the front office to each roll former, tube mill and cut-to-length machine in operation to potentially increase production capacity by up to 40 percent. It measures every inch of material used and can provide an operator and machine diary for every roll forming, tube mill and cut-to-length machine in operation. It identifies goods produced, scrap and downtime and can compare productivity of different machines, shifts, operators, or product types. Order specifications and machine settings can be directly downloaded to each machine processing an order to eliminate operator error associated with manual data entry.

Managers are able to use Eclipse to schedule machines for the most efficient order processing to minimize tooling and coil changes, thus maximizing machine run-times. Should order priorities change, the system can incorporate the change and reschedule work in an instant. Eclipse can be integrated across networked computers for simultaneous operation, allowing various users to enter and manage orders, run reports and review production status.

Eclipse can be customized with a variety of useful modules to fully manage coil inventory, produce detailed tracking reports, import/export data and custom design labels and logos for part marking and bundle tags.
