Montreal, Quebec, Canada June 21, 2004 - e-motional.com software, a developer of systems security and corporate communications software solutions, today announced the release of Transparent Screen Lock PRO v3.5, the latest version of its award-winning system access control utility that enables IT Professionals to secure their workstations or servers with password protection, while viewing programs that are running in the background.
With Transparent Screen Lock PRO software, IT Managers can configure computer systems that unauthorized users can 'see but not touch', while providing controlled access to authorized users. When a system is locked with Transparent Screen Lock, programs running on the desktop remain visible for monitoring purposes, but a user must enter a valid username and password in order to gain system access. System access may optionally be granted to other authenticated users, such as Administrators or multiple users of a shared computer system, by accepting other valid username/password combinations.
With new support for a proximity sensor hardware option, Transparent Screen Lock PRO v3.5 delivers maximum security by automatically locking the system when the user steps away from the station. The system is fully secure immediately, without requiring the user to remember to lock their system. A short grace period, with or without an accompanying warning beep, may be set to avoid locking the system if the user steps away momentarily. When the user approaches the system, the proximity sensor will automatically activate and display TSL-PRO's password-protected logon screen.
The proximity sensor hardware option is easily installed: at less than two square inches in size, it may be mounted directly on a monitor. It connects to a USB port, and does not require any additional software drivers to be installed: the proximity sensor parameters may be adjusted directly from within the TSL-PRO software interface.
