SC Firm Adds Disaster Preparedness and New Medical Features to Its 'Just In Case'® Software Product

New Security Code Can Track Access to an Individual's Medical and Emergency Data

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Aug. 29 / - Pathway Technology, LLC has taken a giant leap forward in helping individuals prepare for any disaster or medical emergency. With release 3.1.1A of its "Just In Case"® software product, the company now has a product that offers individuals a means of storing and carrying all their personal, financial, and comprehensive medical data needed in the event of a natural disaster. Included is a unique tracking code assigned to each individual. The code can be used to track where and when the individual's emergency and/or medical data is accessed using any computer equipped with and licensed under the provisions of the company's provider software product (JICPRO). In addition to EMS, physicians, and hospitals, these computers could be located at a disaster center, FEMA, the Red Cross, or emergency shelters over a multi-state area. The CEO of Pathway, Harris F. Rogers, said, "Based on lessons learned from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, adequate medical data and the tracking of individuals is very important to health officials before and after a disaster. Our clients can essentially carry a detailed record of their medical information, insurance policies, checking accounts, credit cards, securities, etc. with enough information to receive proper medical help, to restore their checking and credit accounts, and to rebuild their lives, without the fear of not knowing where to begin. While much of our emphasis continues to be on the individual's medical data, we cover the entire spectrum of data needed when disaster strikes."

The new version 3.1.1A adds many new medical data features to support what Rogers calls the "patient side of electronic medical records (EMR)." Pictures of healthcare cards, thumbprints, and a driver's license, and an identity picture, can be stored, as well as images and documents like X-rays, lab results, passports and health directives. The "Medic 24/7"(TM) USB flash drive data, pictures, and images are encrypted and password-protected.

The base price of the product per individual is $69.95, which includes two (64 MB) USB storage devices. The product is available to corporate and non- profit partners at a discount.
