Bently Nevada Announces System 1(TM) Integration With MRO Software's MAXIMO®
MINDEN, 10 FEBRUARY 2003 - Bently Nevada today announced the release of version 4.0 of its popular System 1(TM) Plant Asset Management software, featuring an integrated interface to
MAXIMO® from MRO Software. System 1 provides condition monitoring, document linking, Decision Support SM, and other mechanical and thermodynamic condition assessment tools. MAXIMO provides asset-related maintenance management, procurement, and sourcing functionality, vital to the overall equipment lifecycle management function in industrial enterprises.
The bi-directional interface allows pertinent data, information, and transactions to be interchanged between the systems. Condition-based criteria in System 1 can thus be used to trigger a work order request in MAXIMO, and System 1's user interface can be used to easily access maintenance-related information in MAXIMO to assist with root cause assessments when diagnosing asset problems. The benefits of condition-based maintenance and operating decisions, rather than calendar-based maintenance or run-to-failure practices, are well documented. Substantial savings can be realized in reduced process interruptions, maintenance costs, and asset failures.
Explains Marco Alcalde, Bently Nevada's Product Line Manager for System 1, "The ability to manage assets effectively requires information from many sources. Condition monitoring helps answer the question, 'what do I need to work on?' MAXIMO's maintenance management solutions help customers optimally answer the question, 'how do I manage this work?'" Alcalde continues, "MAXIMO and System 1 are very complementary, delivering key ingredients in the overall asset management function - the ability to effectively and efficiently assess asset condition, use this information to quickly initiate maintenance activities, and then manage workflow when executing the necessary maintenance. System 1 and MAXIMO work hand-in-hand
to achieve this." Concludes Alcalde, "We're extremely excited about our formalized partnership with MRO Software and the additional value this brings to our mutual customers."
