Attunity Launches Continuous Change Data Capture Via SQL

Innovative Enhancement Benefits Composite Workplace Applications and Real-Time Dashboards

BURLINGTON, Massachusetts, December 11/-- Attunity (NASDAQ-CM: ATTU), the leading provider of enterprise-class software for application and data integration, and workplace solutions in the Composite Applications market, announced today the general availability of version 5.1 of its Attunity Integration Suite (AIS) incorporating a new Change Data Capture (CDC) technique named 'Continuous CDC'.

As part of the Attunity Stream product, Continuous CDC enables ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) tools or programs to use standard SQL to query and continuously feed only changed data records for processing. This is an innovative and alternative approach to traditional extract feeds for ETL tools, which typically poll for changes on a periodic basis (e.g. every few hours), adding latency between each cycle, as well as the overhead of initiating new processes every few minutes. The new capability benefits end users further by providing flexible ways of controlling and managing the change stream such as the ability to stop it on-demand, in a scheduled manner or to pause and then resume the process.

The development represents significant benefits for a number of application areas. For example business intelligence dashboards and more recently the Composite Workplace Applications market, also served by Attunity with its InFocus product line, both benefit from continuous data streaming, by providing immediate notification of what is happening within the business.

For companies with complex operational and event-rich environments, exceptions and issues that are not identified and acted upon quickly can obviously have a deep impact on business performance.

"Continuous CDC is a completely new way of realising real time data,"
said Andy Bailey, vice president of marketing. "This latest innovation demonstrates Attunity's continued commitment to developing solutions that meet customer and market demands for improved performance, and provides Attunity's ETL partners with an alternative approach to traditional ETL processing, as well as real-time-enabling dashboards and composite workplace applications."

AIS dramatically simplifies the access and integration to enterprise data and legacy systems. A modular solution, it allows organizations to address different tactical needs quickly, while relying on a comprehensive platform that allows reusability and can address many needs. With AIS, organizations have a foundation for rapid and standard integration, the ability to reduce the risks of legacy integration, and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO).
