Emerson's New Vibration Analysis Software Makes Machinery Diagnosis Faster and Easier

CSI RBMware version 4.70 offers a better way to view and plot data for a clearer picture of the condition of rotating equipment. KNOXVILLE, TN (September 3, 2002) - Emerson Process Management announces a new, enhanced version of CSI RBMware vibration analysis software that is easier to use and provides more effective diagnostic features than earlier versions. Available now, RBMware 4.70 provides vibration analysts a new way to view and plot data received from vibration monitors, allowing faster, more accurate determination of the condition of rotating machinery to help prevent unexpected production stoppages. New features of RBMware 4.70 include: a three-view split plot of spectrum, waveform, and trend data; simultaneous display of up to four fault frequencies; automatic matching of fault frequencies; easy modification of alarm limits; and a new reporting capability. Colored equipment health status icons and alarm severity levels have been added to improve recognition of the current condition of equipment for all users. When an alert is triggered by any vibration monitoring method, the color of the icon changes to reflect the severity of the alert. Each of these features provides useful benefits for end-users. For example, analysts viewing all three plots at one time receive a complete picture of the health of plant equipment and can formulate their conclusions more quickly. In addition, the ability to overlay fault frequencies and match fault frequencies to peaks allows users to be more efficient in analyzing the data to determine the current condition of a specific piece of rotating machinery. The ability to conveniently modify alarm levels or create a new set of alarms is another feature designed to make the software easier and faster to use. Alarm reports with colors based on the severity of the condition are more noticeable and easier to interpret, so decision makers can quickly evaluate equipment across the entire database and take appropriate action.
