Mid-Market ERP Provider Adds Final Link To Value Chain Management With Supplier Portal
New York, CeBIT (Booth # 4409) - June 16, 2003 - Exact Software, a worldwide provider of the next generation of ERP software and a division of Exact Holding N.V., has added a Supplier Portal to its e-Synergy product. e-Synergy already had specialized portals for employees, customers and business partners, but the addition of the Supplier portal completes the set.
The Supplier Portal offers companies the ability to interact with their suppliers in real time and in a variety of ways. With this new capability, suppliers are integrated into the company's electronic workflow, document management and item (product) management subsystems via the portal.
"These functions greatly enhance a supplier's ability to collaborate on supply chain matters," says Mike House, North American general manager for e-Synergy. "This is important because suppliers are another element of the business ecosystem - along with partners, customers and employees. The addition of the Supplier Portal extends the real-time enterprise, adding yet another link in the value chain."
In addition to collaborating on product development and monitoring quality, suppliers are able to participate in many facets of the company's day-to-day operations. For example, they can also participate in projects. An ISO certified organization could include its suppliers in its ISO monitoring activities by tasking them for reports and scheduling them for participation in audits.
