KPP 2.02 Released on the 3rd of October*



KPP 2.02 implements a new software architecture of KineoWorks(TM) improving flexibility and modularity. It is now easier to add dedicated modules addressing specific needs such as:
KPP-Device that handles motion planning of complex articulated bodies
KPP-Human computing a serviceability task by a 3D digital mannequin
and KPP-Sequence which is highlighted further below

a direct compatibility with a major automotive and aerospace CAD format from UGS

the capability to graphically lock or limit the degrees of freedom in rotation and/or in translation as highlighted in the next section

in one click, it is possible to update or test an existing collision free path with a new moving part (i.e. after a design change of the component)

further improvement of the "unstick" feature renamed Extraction from collision - easier to use and more efficient when the moving part is colliding in the mounted position

an analyser to quickly identify bottlenecks along the path

a brand new gauge gives real time graphic information about the level of difficulty of the current trajectory search

KPP-Sequence

KPP-Sequence is an add-on module that enhances Kineo Path Planner(TM) standard features with Sequence Planning capabilities.

It supports the maintenance methods by offering an automatic computation of assembly teardown order. KPP-Sequence can generate all the combinations (sequences) for dismounting either an entire assembly or a specific component part while respecting the dismounting order.

It will automatically search for the set of collision free trajectories corresponding to the user's requirements (i.e. the sequence that will minimize the number of dismounted parts).

Locking / Limiting the degrees of freedom

Question: Have you ever heard of the aquarium example? How to move it from the table to the shelves avoiding any loss of water?

Answer: simply by using the KPP2.02 sliders that limit the rotations on X-axis and Y-axis before running an automatic path search.
