Smith Micro's Consumer Group Adds Powerful File Recovery Tool - MediaRECOVER®4.0 to Their Photo Product Line

LAS VEGAS, PHOTO MARKETING ASSOCIATION 2007, March 8 -- Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) Consumer Group today announced it has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with MediaRECOVER, LLC., a leader in data recovery solutions. MediaRECOVER 4.0 offers users a feature-rich application for recovering pictures, music, video, and data files from memory cards, "thumb drives," and digital "film" that have been damaged, accidentally erased or reformatted.

MediaRECOVER will be showcased at PMA 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 8-11 at Booth #M249. Attendees will have a first-hand look at the software's ability to recover lost files (photos, audio, video, PDF's, office files, tax spreadsheets, etc.) from hard drives and removable media used in digital cameras, PDA's and other devices.

"The loss of photos from digital media is a major concern for users of digital cameras. This software recovers images of 'once-in-a-lifetime family moments' or 'vacations' stored in the device but thought of as lost forever, making MediaRECOVER essential for photographers," said David Polzine, Product Manager, Smith Micro Software, Inc. "By adding MediaRECOVER to our image management and data security product lines, Smith Micro is able to leverage our growing product portfolio and capitalize on emerging opportunities."

MediaRECOVER helps users repair files that are unusable due to the following reasons:

o Accidental erasure or reformatting
o Inadvertent shutdown, battery, or power failure
o Attempting to remove a card or drive while in use
o Inadvertent camera/computer shutdown
o Data corruption to critical areas
o Other events that could cause damage to the data structure

Smith Micro expects to launch MediaRECOVER 4.0 by early Q2 of 2007 and will be made available at the Smith Micro web stores, popular retailers, catalogs and distribution partners worldwide. To learn more about MediaRECOVER 4.0 and our complete line of software, visit: www.smithmicro.com.
