SoftBrands Announces New Features in Latest Release of Its Property Management System, Medallion



MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 24 -- SoftBrands, a global supplier of enterprise application software, today announced the release of Medallion 6.0, a popular Windows®-based property management system. The enhancements to the product's functional capabilities will appeal to a broad range of hotel customers.

Medallion is a comprehensive system with the flexibility to meet the technical requirements of SoftBrands' customers. From premier and group properties to highly specialized boutiques and city center properties, it meets varied business and operational requirements. Medallion is highly configurable so it may be matched to the way individual properties are managed, such as selling by room type, or by rooms with packages, or negotiated rates.

Medallion 6.0 also includes:

-- Increased support for additional geographies

-- Support for double-byte languages, such as Chinese. The software has previously been available in many European languages, but can now store and retrieve data, as well as display all screen prompts and reports in Chinese. Other Asian languages will be implemented through the year.

-- Enhancements to rates and package management; travel agent and commissions management; and account receivables. Improvements have been made to the reservation, folio management and check out workflow, reducing the steps a user takes in performing common operations.
