Designed as a low cost alternative to products such as Adobe Acrobat, PDF Writer Pro enables users to convert any document to PDF from the Print dialog of any Windows application. This can be Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto-Cad and over 500 other applications, which are natively supported by the program. A converted PDF files can be printed or shared by email with anyone who has Adobe Reader. PDF Writer Pro will benefit small businesses by providing the opportunity to create low cost PDF reports, spreadsheets, marketing plans, contracts and newsletters.
PDF Writer Pro installs itself as a printer driver that shows up whenever you access the Print command from within a Windows application. When the Print dialog appears on screen, you select PDF Writer Pro as the designated printer and click the Print button. At this point, a second dialog appears, in which you can configure PDF output settings. You can set up paper size and resolution, enable compression, specify the version of a PDF viewer and embed the fonts, images, and tables used in the original. The output can be password-protected from opening or changing its security settings. You can disable the ability to copy text, change its content, and print a document to paper. When all is set up, you can preview how the document will look as a PDF file, and then save it, print or email it as a PDF attachment. If a "Shared printer" option is selected, PDF conversion can be done on any machine in a network.
