IBM AIX Performance Toolbox and Performance Aide V3.1 Analyze System Performance



Overview

AIX® Performance Toolbox (PTX) V3.1 is a comprehensive tool set that helps you view and analyze system performance in local and distributed environments.

o The new Jtopas application creates simplified snapshot views of overall activity for near real-time and playback analysis.

o Snapshot views display sorted listings of disk, processor, network, process, and other resource consumption.

o Additional system-level and aggregated performance metrics assist administrators with monitoring IBM eserver pSeries(TM) systems with dynamic logical partitioning configuration.

Performance Aide V3.1 supports the following:

o Continuous recording of top resource consumption and global performance data

o Automated configuration requiring no user setup

o Common agent on both AIX V5.1 and 5.2
