Overview
The IBM Content Management for Message Monitoring and Retention solution, a comprehensive Content Management solution, can help companies to address the requirements of long-term archival and retention of correspondence around regulations such as, SEC 17a-4 and NASD 3010/3110 for the financial services industry.

The solution manages the content across the enterprise to capture, inspect, analyze, supervise, store and archive, retrieve, retain, and discover customer correspondence, e-mail, instant messages (IM), and attachments. Many organizations realize this type of solution is not only necessary for compliance and litigation support but also for corporate policy, content organization, IT performance, and productivity.

The solution is built on a solid infrastructure of the DB2® CommonStore for Message Retention product and the Assentor application product suite by IBM Business Partner iLumin Software Services. DB2 Records Manager for Messaging is DoD 5015.2-STD June 2002, certified. It enables messaging applications to deliver formal records management capabilities to e-mail records such as, event-based retention and suspensions (legal holds). It provides additional control to manage the Lifecycle of messaging records.
