CALGARY, Alberta --- June 8, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces LinQ(TM) Mobile 1.0 remote control software. Compatible with SMART Board(TM) software 9.1, LinQ Mobile software allows users to access and control applications and write notes in digital ink on a SMART Board interactive whiteboard from a Wi-Fi enabled PDA or smartphone running Microsoft(R) Windows Mobile(TM) software. LinQ Mobile software will be available in June 2005 for download from SMART's website for US$49.

With LinQ Mobile software installed on a PDA or smartphone, the user can connect to any SMART Board interactive whiteboard on an accessible network. Once the mobile device's display shows the image from the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, the user simply presses and holds the stylus on the mobile device to bring up a flow menu with options to use a mouse cursor, write notes in digital ink, zoom in, or release control of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. LinQ Mobile software is the latest product from SMART allowing users wireless access and control of their SMART Board interactive whiteboard. With LinQ software and the AirLiner(TM) wireless slate also available, customers can choose a wireless solution that leverages the technology tools already available to them.
