Original Press Release:

Align Technology Improves Ease-of-Use and Efficiency with ClinCheck 2.0®

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 6 / -- At the American Dental Association's 146th Annual Session in Philadelphia today, Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign(R), a proprietary method of straightening teeth without wires and brackets, launched ClinCheck(R) 2.0, the latest version of Align's software application for Invisalign treatment. This latest version of ClinCheck is designed to improve usability and streamline ClinCheck review and approvals for Invisalign doctors.

The ClinCheck application provides a graphically rich environment for doctors to view a 3D computerized simulation of Invisalign treatment and the progression of tooth movement from the initial to the final position. Treatment planning tools allow the doctor to review and manipulate different aspects of the virtual model in order to make the best clinical decisions for the patient.

ClinCheck 2.0 was designed to provide greater ease-of-use and streamline treatment planning and ClinCheck review for doctors. New features include:

-- Integrated Comments from Doctors and Align Technicians: reduces ClinCheck evaluation time by providing a historical, color-code view of clinical directions and comments between the doctor and Align in one window.

-- IPR Call Outs: provides immediate access to the amount, position and treatment stage of Interproximal Reduction.

-- Review Wizard: provides a structured, organized review process by guiding doctors step-by-step through a series of clinical views of the virtual model, posing relevant questions for each view.

ClinCheck 2.0 also includes easier to navigate windows and menus, with one-click access to tools and more accurate and efficient click-and-ID tooth numbering.

"ClinCheck 2.0 represents the first set of significant upgrades that Align plans to introduce over the next eighteen months to make the treatment process more effective and efficient for doctors," said Thomas M. Prescott, Align President and Chief Executive Officer. "Along with Invisalign Express, this represents significant progress in our development of Invisalign 2.0."

Case setups created for the previous version of ClinCheck software can be viewed with ClinCheck 2.0, and previous versions of the software will still be supported. Certified doctors can find out more information about ClinCheck 2.0 and download the software at invisalign.com/clincheck.

About Align Technology, Inc.
Align Technology designs, manufactures and markets Invisalign, a proprietary method for treating malocclusion, or the misalignment of teeth. Invisalign corrects malocclusion using a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable appliances that gently move teeth to a desired final position. Because it does not rely on the use of metal or ceramic brackets and wires, Invisalign significantly reduces the aesthetic and other limitations associated with braces. Invisalign is appropriate for treating adults and older teens. Align Technology was founded in March 1997 and received FDA clearance to market Invisalign in 1998.
