NEW YORK, March 6 / -- Exalead, a global provider of search software designed to simplify access to information no matter where it resides, today announced exalead one:enterprise(TM) 4.0. Built on the company's unified exalead one:search(TM) technology platform, the new version of Exalead's enterprise search software delivers tremendous performance improvements, greater flexibility and customization capabilities, as well as new semantic technologies to improve multi-lingual search results.

o Dramatic performance increases: Indexing and search performance, already one of Exalead's strong competitive advantages, has been increased by a factor of three for large document collections (up to two hundred million documents on a single server).
o New integration with exalead one:desktop(TM): Together, exalead one:desktop, one:workgroup(TM) and exalead one:enterprise software products offer a unified view of information whether it resides on one's PC, company Intranet or the Web.
o Enhanced configurability: Exalead has implemented a new HTTP crawler configuration tool to allow administrators to have a better control of the crawler's behavior.
o Tighter security: A refined security infrastructure allows for a finer-grained control of the access control list (ACL) of any document, including Windows or UNIX(R) files, Lotus Notes items, database entries and even HTML pages.
o Increased flexibility: Improved support for custom style sheets (CSS) allow administrators to more easily customize the Exalead user interface, and take full control of the style and layout.
o Support for more industry standards: Exalead's software products and user-interfaces now include support for W3C specifications, including the W3C WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative).
o High-performance real-time filtering technology: Exalead enterprise products now feature a new powerful and high-performance real-time filtering technology infrastructure. This technology provides the first truly unified integrated tool that can be used for lexical, grammatical, structural (XML-based) and business-rules-based filtering. It can be used for countless advanced applications (semantic indexing, feature extraction and classification).
o Advanced semantic technologies: Exalead now offers named entity recognition (people, places, dates, currency); thesaurus integration; a full-fledged document categorization module based on Exalead's new high-performance filtering technology; and a new open architecture for integrating third-party semantic indexing technologies.

o Easy configuration: The point-and-click configuration user interface that makes Exalead products so easy to deploy now has an expert mode and a RAD tool (Rapid Application Development) for complex applications. The configuration module is now also fully remote-controllable via Web Services APIs.

A Simpler Way to Search
