Newly available enhancements to the MAP include presence management, customizable application development, and connection to instant messaging servers and collaborative platforms. These combined offerings serve to extend functionality and further encourage collaborative communications, enabling enterprises to maximize the potential of enterprise VoIP deployments.
SDK Added
As part of the release of the new MAP, LiteScape is introducing its first Software Development Kit (SDK), which serves as an enabling technology to build on and expand the platform's capabilities. With the new SDK, LiteScape partners and customers have the option of creating their own, customized IP telephony applications. The SDK has already received strong interest from large enterprises and international partners who have varying VoIP requirements and wish to create customized applications on top of LiteScape's convergence platform.
Plug-and-Play for Mid-market
LiteScape is also unveiling OnCast Collaboration Server, creating more flexible packaging and deployment options which include a comprehensive hardware and software solution for the mid-market. While LiteScape's current suite of applications work well with large enterprises who already have IP systems in place, mid-sized businesses are looking to reap the benefits of IP deployments with an integrated, plug-and-play solution set. Under these new options, LiteScape is offering OnCast Collaboration Server as an appliance- based model designed to lower costs and ease the installation and configuration process.

Additional capabilities that are newly available within MAP include:
-- OnCast Presence -- Sets and monitors presence information at the phone, offering visibility into an individual's physical location and availability status. In real-time, colleagues can view profile and availability information for their co-workers, such as if an individual is occupied or available. This presence management across clusters eliminates phone-tag and enhances extension mobility. Presence also integrates with external applications such as Microsoft Live Communication Server, enabling media and call proxy between MS-LCS and the Cisco IP-PBX switch, as well as real time SIP presence proxy integration.
-- Visual Messaging -- Access to email, calendaring and voicemail systems from IP phones enables real-time visual IP messaging in terms of search & dial, search & broadcast, and search & conference. This visual messaging includes the ability to browse and read messages and calendar items from IP phones, receive meeting and teleconference reminders, and deliver filtered messages and personalized notifications with multi-modal content such as voice, text, and images to IP phones.
-- Multi-Directory Support -- Integration with LDAP, AD, MS Exchange, Novell, Lotus, Cisco DCD and Oracle directories.
