(Konica Minolta) today announced the launch of PageScope Workware, a desktop document management and publishing solution that enables individuals and small workgroups to organize, view, find, edit and share images and electronic documents with extraordinary ease. Designed for increased productivity and cost efficiency, Konica Minolta's PageScope Workware is based on Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and supports Adobe 5.0 and 6.0 formats. It is the next generation of the PageScope Cabinet Pro solution.

A powerful desktop solution, PageScope Workware was developed to assist individuals by delivering the easy searching, retrieving, organizing and distribution of electronic files. It allows users to perform network scanning and archiving of both text and graphic files. The application enables the composition of documents from multiple file type sources -- which are automatically turned into PDF documents -- and leverages Konica Minolta's bizhub MFPs and the bizhub OP open software platform, with its desktop publishing capabilities. Users can quickly preview files as thumbnail images, search documents using a wide range of criteria, group documents in virtual files, enhance images, and print or email with drag-and-drop speed.

PageScope Workware's Main Features:
o Convert all scanned documents automatically to PDF documents (Adobe acrobat 7.0 included), including PDF annotations, document security (functional/password protection) and digital signatures (document authenticity)
o Advanced search capabilities; search for documents/images by their content, keywords, date, author, etc.
o Group multiple document file types in a "binder"
o Combine multiple files (types) to create a single PDF document using the bind/unbind feature
o Maintain original files (types) along with PDF
o FTP server functionality for easy MFP connectivity
o Built-in OCR engine for text conversion and document content indexing
o Create icons on the Launch Bar to commonly used applications, destinations and printers
o Print documents with Launch Bar printer (MFP) icons
o Distribute documents via file servers, email or MS SharePoint

One of PageScope Workware's major attributes is its PDF-Centric Document Filing Cabinet that enables users to:

o Combine various file formats into one PDF document;
o Leverage Adobe Acrobat's feature set; and
