Overview
IBM Tivoli® Workload Scheduler for Virtualized Data Centers V8.2 provides an enterprise-level scheduling solution that helps you perform cross-platform, cross-domain, and cross-enterprise scheduling by integrating business applications across grid, mainframe, and traditional distributed environments. It also provides fault tolerance, scalability, and outstanding workload performance.
Specifically, it can help you:
· Execute enterprise workloads across virtual resource pools
· Maximize the scheduling and utilization of cross-enterprise computing power
· Extract maximum cross-enterprise workload execution and system performance
· Optimize server resources and reduce costs
· Automate the efficient distribution and scheduling of workloads across a heterogeneous environment
· Maximize capacity in a high performance computing (HPC) environment by utilizing all available resources to dynamically balance workload
· Improve productivity by dynamically rerouting workload around nodes that are down or busy
IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for Virtualized Data Centers V8.2 provides workload scheduling in grid and HPC environments to support e-business on demand(TM). It can be used to plan activities based on inter-job dependencies, business calendars, and other job dependencies. When a job's dependencies are met, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for Virtualized Data Centers V8.2 passes the job to IBM LoadLeveler® or to IBM Grid Toolbox for allocation to the right resource. Then, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for Virtualized Data Centers V8.2 can retrieve the status of jobs executed in the grid and HPC environments, and post them to the workload plan.
