Wyse Debuts Comprehensive Thin Computing Software Suite

New Offerings Simplify the Deployment and Management of Thin Computing Infrastructure With Reduced Cost and Advanced Risk Management

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 24 // -- Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced the general availability of Wyse Streaming Manager (WSM) 1.2 and Wyse Device Manager (WDM) 4.5, two essential components of its comprehensive thin computing infrastructure management and provisioning software suite designed to bring greater cost efficiency, reliability, manageability and security to organizations of all sizes.

Wyse's latest software solutions further extend the thin-computing value proposition. Wyse Streaming Manager provides the following key features:

- Built-in high availability -- eliminate a single point of failure
without requiring redundant hardware

- Increased flexibility for
o Application provisioning
o Active directory integration
o Streaming OS support (Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000
professional or Windows XP Embedded)
o Streaming device support (PCs, Virtual Machines and other devices
which meet the minimum requirements of a Wyse Streaming Manager
client)

- Streamlined Processes
o Guided actions to direct the user through a task
o Simplified patching mechanism -- for both operating systems and
applications eliminating downtime and reducing network overheard

- Device control -- remotely control the device from a central console

Wyse Streaming Manager is used by businesses and educational institutions to automate the management of user desktops, enabling the use of the broadest array of PC-based business or educational software titles including rich animation and multimedia sound and video on simple, stateless thin computers. Thin computers or PCs can be used on the desktop so the user experience is identical to that on a PC, but with WSM, the experience is secure, controlled, and less costly.

"Today's school curriculums demand rich-media applications. Lemon Grove School District uses Wyse Streaming Manager and Wyse Device Manager in combination with the Citrix Presentation Server to easily deploy all types of applications to student desktops," said Darryl LaGace, chief technology officer, Lemon Grove School District. "In the education technology business, it's all about getting the most for your money. We are able to reach nearly twice as many students without additions to the existing budget."

"Wyse Streaming Manager is gaining a lot of traction in the thin computing market and the new features in the release satisfies a large number of customer requirements and makes the product more attractive to the broader market segment," said Tarkan Maner, president of worldwide field operations, Wyse.

Wyse Device Manager (WDM) is the leading thin computing device management system around the world, with more licenses sold than that of any competitor.

WDM now offers the following features:

o Increased reliability during device updates and the ability to retry
failed updates
o Increased back-end infrastructure support
- Support for multiple databases (Oracle/SQL Server/MSDE)
- Support for Active directory
o Delegated administration -- ability to delegate device management
responsibility to other administrators with granular control over what
actions they can perform on authorized devices
o Enhanced reporting -- additional reports to get a better understanding
of the thin computing environment

"The ease of use combined with greater flexibility, reliability and security enables Wyse Device Manager to further simplify the management of the thin computing infrastructure," said Maner.

At the Citrix iForum Global 2006 event, in Orlando, Florida, Wyse products are showcased at Exhibition Booth # 103.
