AccuMetria announces the official release of CMMWorks, a powerful and affordable off-line CMM programming and simulation software package integrated into SolidWorks 2003. Released for sale in May 2003, this innovative product reduces CMM downtime, allows full use of original CAD geometry, and helps prevent probe head collisions.
CMMWorks provides full support for the inspection of prismatic parts. This includes support for fixed and indexable probe heads, profile inspection using intersection curves, constructed geometry, coordinate systems and patterns of geometry features. CMM motion simulation with collision detection insures that no unwanted or expensive collisions occur.
Full integration with SolidWorks allows CMMWorks to use dimension and tolerance information directly from the part or assembly. Also, part programs can be easily updated should the SolidWorks geometry change. Full on-line documentation and tutorials are provided, as is an integrated DMIS 4.0 post processor. With an easy to use graphical user interface, CMMWorks has an intuitive and powerful environment for creating and editing CMM part programs. CMMWorks can also import CAD geometry from sources such as STEP, IGES, ACIS, SAT and others.
