Kineo CAM Releases KPP-SDK(TM) to End-Users and Software Developers
Labege, France, December 4th, 2006: Kineo C.A.M. announces the release of its brand new KPP-SDK(TM) software solution.
KPP-SDK(TM) is built on KPP(TM) software product and allows the user to develop his own custom and proprietary modules through standard Application Programming Interfaces (API).
"A lot of our customers were asking for specific features which were difficult to consider as part of the general roadmap of the KPP(TM) new releases. Some times it was too specific, some other times the content was too confidential to be exposed." explains Etienne Ferro, the Kineo CAM's CTO. With its KPP-Device(TM) module for easily editing complex kinematics of articulated systems, it covers a large range of uses like Manufacturing robots, Medical robots or highly articulated Nuclear systems.
KPP-SDK(TM) opens KPP(TM) standard API to extend the fields of use in many ways, for example:
o adding physical properties in motion,
o connecting external devices like haptic, 3D recognition device,
o linking KPP(TM) to specific customer's 3D database,
o creating dedicated Robot simulator and real-time monitoring,
o implementing task planning and scheduling,
o integrating customer's business constraints in simulation,

o writing proprietary CAD readers,
o generating Mannequin ergonomic postures,
o embedding GUI-less KPP(TM) engine in industrial systems
Two early customers have been already delivered with KPP-SDK(TM), the Japanese AIST- French CNRS joint robotic laboratory "JRL" and a worldwide leading automobile constructor in Japan. KPP-SDK(TM) general availability is forecasted in 2007 Q1.
