Brady/TISCOR's New FacilityManager 3.0 Software Makes Mobile Facility Management a Breeze

Enhanced features further streamline work requests, scheduling and reporting

SAN DIEGO, Calif., February 23, 2005-Brady/TISCOR, an innovator in mobile workforce automation software systems and a leading provider of total facility management solutions, today announced the release of FacilityManager 3.0, a sophisticated version of the company's paperless software system created for facility personnel to plan, schedule and track maintenance management activities including resources, materials, labor hours and costs.

Used with Windows-based Pocket PCs, facility managers simply send tasks electronically to their employees' hand-held devices outlining the items or areas that need to be checked.

Once facility staff members receive the work requests on their mobile devices, they use the hand-helds to scan the identity barcodes at specific areas, conduct and record maintenance information on the spot by performing customized tasks that are prompted by the software, and upload the information to a central PC database.

The system is designed to help companies reduce downtime on equipment, increase equipment life, maximize productivity, simplify the maintenance management process, and increase efficiency.

"Brady/TISCOR is pleased to offer advanced technology in version 3.0 that will make it even easier for facility personnel to record and track all of their maintenance tasks, reduce downtime, and generate reports proving their maintenance activities and the associated outcomes," said Brad Martell, General Manager at Brady/TISCOR.

Following are examples of the new features included in FacilityManager 3.0:

Checkpoints Now Directly Associated with Departments. This feature allows users to directly associate each checkpoint, i.e. each location, equipment or system, with a particular department, allowing facility technicians to view which item is associated with a specific department. Reports can be generated to display the associations.

Incident Tasking. This function enables management to attach a question set to a specific incident that might be encountered by an inspector in order to prompt the technician to provide specific details about the occurrence. This feature can also ensure that a technician follows the correct protocols for handling the incident.

More Flexible Scheduling. Maintenance personnel can now schedule inspections at desired intervals such as on the first of every month, and can program inspections to be categorized as "overdue" at specific intervals. A scheduling preview option is also available, which reduces scheduling errors.

Improved Work Orders. Using the Pocket PC, this enhancement offers users pick lists of typical responses to inspection questions so they save time by not having to manually input data to complete work orders. In addition, the work orders offer a calculation of costing, which displays how much the maintenance task will cost based on the required labor and parts.
