Collect, Store and Extract Performance Data from Various Platforms with TeamQuest Harvest

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa, May 8 -- TeamQuest Corporation, the global leader in IT Service Optimization (ITSO) software, announced availability of TeamQuest Harvest for Unisys MCP Systems. TeamQuest Harvest enables users to extract performance data from one or more identical or varied systems and consolidate this data into an enterprise database.

This provides a facility for combining and centralizing performance management data for all of a company's servers. TeamQuest harvest for Unisys MCP systems uses TeamQuest SMFII to collect MCP system performance data.

The TeamQuest Enterprise Database (EDB) can collect and store performance data from homogeneous or heterogeneous platforms. For example, one TeamQuest Enterprise Database could contain data from several Unisys MCP systems and another TeamQuest Enterprise Database could contain data from any combination of Unisys MCP, Unisys 2200, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Sun Solaris, IBM z/OS, and other systems.

"TeamQuest is providing the end user with the ability to seamlessly collect, store and extract performance data from multiple systems," said TeamQuest CEO Jerred Ruble.

Harvesting data to a TeamQuest Enterprise Database enables numerous scenarios for data storage and analysis. For example, users can store performance data from a group of servers, which are behind a load balancer and analyze the effectiveness of the load balancing. Users can also store performance data from servers of each tier of a multi-tiered application and analyze the combined performance of the application.

Using an EDB to store historical data allows detailed analysis of the data using graphical reporting tools without imposing a processing load on the system where the data was collected, which can be very important in a production environment.

The EDB provides additional analysis techniques, such as derived statistics and linear trend analysis, which were not previously available to TeamQuest SMFII users.

TeamQuest Harvest for Unisys MCP Systems uses TeamQuest SMFII as its data source, which enables customers to combine and centralize performance management activities for all their servers.
