InfinID Technologies Announces Availability of idWorx! Version 1.7

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 11 // -- InfinID Technologies announced today the availability of version 1.7 of idWorx!, their flagship software suite for achieving compliance with the DoD (Department of Defense) mandates on UID (Unique Identification) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) in accordance with DFARS requirements.

"The idWorx! software suite provides DoD suppliers with a complete software and hardware solution for achieving compliance with the UID and RFID mandates, including automatic electronic submission to WAWF (Wide Area Workflow), and the UID Registry," said Jonathan Pugh, idWorx! Product Manager for InfinID.

The new release incorporates many new features and functional modules which have been garnered from customers' suggestions over the last year of idWorx! deployment, Pugh said. "idWorx!, which is modular, now has modules for handling GFP (Government Furnished Property in Possession of Contractors), Virtual UIDs, Legacy items, and data import/export in the AIA (Aerospace Industries Association) formats," explained Pugh. In addition, support for a much wider array of direct marking equipment, such as lasers and dot peen, and UID verifiers, has been included.

The inclusion of a GFP module represents a significant increase in idWorx! functionality, said Pugh. "The DoD is requiring that all GFP items be UID marked. As long as the GFP item has some kind of serial mark that makes it physically unique (such as a linear barcode), the supplier can submit what is called a Virtual UID, which has the final data of the UID, but declares the marking process as incomplete. Later when the part is marked it changes state. A supplier using idWorx! doesn't have to worry about what state the UID is in, since idWorx! handles everything for the supplier automatically, including submission of the GFP items to the UID Registry," explained Pugh.

InfinID has also introduced another new module in idWorx! release 1.7, called WAWF Manager. Lawrence Glover, Senior Account Manager at InfinID, explains, "In the course of our interactions with potential customers over the last year it became clear that many suppliers to the DoD did not need to implement UID or RFID just yet but urgently needed a way to automate submission of shipments and invoices via the WAWF system. The idWorx! WAWF manager does just that and provides a seamless upgrade path to full UID and RFID compliance at a later date."
