Coreco Imaging Announces New Utility for Simplified, Rapid Camera Connectivity, Other Powerful New Features in Sapera LT 5.0

MONTREAL, QUEBEC (January 21, 2004) - Coreco Imaging, a leading developer of high-performance machine vision components and services, today announced the availability of CamExpert(TM), a powerful new Windows® -based camera configuration utility that is bundled within its latest its release of the Sapera LT 5.0 image acquisition and development library. CamExpert provides an interactive environment for creating new-or modifying existing-configuration files for area and linescan camera applications.

"CamExpert eliminates the complexity of interfacing cameras via a simple point-and-click menu and it provides a faster, easier way to program the acquisition hardware, making it a crucial component in the performance and usability of Sapera LT 5.0," said Philip Colet, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Coreco Imaging.

CamExpert offers numerous features for rapid implementation and ease of use, including: an enhanced graphical user interface with multiple views of camera and board parameters; a live grab and display window for rapid online parameter tweaking; a sophisticated waveform view that improves understanding of signal inter-relationships; live camera status indicators that make camera setup fast and easy; a single camera configuration file format (CCF) rather than separate files for camera interfacing and video parameters; and context-sensitive help. An interactive waveform tool allows precise timing parameter setup.

Sapera LT 5.0 is a suite of hardware-independent C and C++ software libraries for image acquisition, display and control that supports all of Coreco Imaging's hardware platforms. Its comprehensive feature set includes program portability, versatile camera controls, flexible display functionality and management and easy-to-use application development wizards. In addition to CamExpert, other new high-performance capabilities in the latest release include:

o New and expanded C++ classes for image acquisition, buffer management and IO controls;
o Three sophisticated Bayer filter algorithms that increase the accuracy of image edges, color quality and speed of execution;
o Microsoft .Net compatibility for greater application development flexibility;
o Trigger-to-image reliability that enables camera control signals (triggers and strobes) to be monitored via the desktop for easier debugging. Trigger-to-image reliability is an exacting technology framework that leverages Coreco Imaging's hardware and software innovations to control, monitor and recover the image acquisition process from the time that an external trigger event occurs to the moment the data is sent to the PCI bus.

Sapera LT 5.0 is available immediately.
