Invensys Exhibits InFusion SCADA 2.0 at DistribuTECH

New solution improves functionality, flexibility and security for remote operations --

PLANO, TEXAS - Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the process and manufacturing industries, today announced the availability of its InFusion(TM) SCADA 2.0 software. The application, an important component of the company's InFusion Enterprise Control System, delivers one of the most powerful, versatile and complete supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems available. It will be exhibited at this year's DistribuTECH show, being held from March 23 through March 25, in Tampa, Fla.

"Robust, reliable monitoring of remote operations can mean tremendous savings in reduced downtime, efficient maintenance and improved security," said Keith Jones, marketing program manager, Invensys Operations Management. "The combination of the InFusion SCADA 2.0 software with Foxboro RTU solutions specifically addresses the need to provide utilities greater visibility into and measurement of their operational performance. The SCADA systems will optimize real-time monitoring, data acquisition, communications and control for power distribution, water and wastewater, and oil and gas operations."

The InFusion SCADA 2.0 package of software components enables SCADA developers to create reusable objects and templates, as well as manage HMI display properties, data quality, equipment maintenance tagging and other functions necessary for rapidly building powerful, easy-to-use SCADA applications. The system also stores program components in a central repository for remote deployment to Windows-based network devices. End users can then draw on this repository to build future applications, helping to enforce standards, preserve knowledge and reduce the overall engineering effort. System managers also can propagate changes to multiple computers with a single mouse click, reducing travel and SCADA network troubleshooting costs. These capabilities allow applications to be developed and modified in half the time of conventional SCADA systems, resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
