Sunrise Telecom's® Voice and Video Test Suite for the SunSet® MTT Platform Delivers Integrated VoIP and IPTV Testing in a Single, Compact Unit



SAN JOSE, Calif., March 16 /- Sunrise Telecom(R) Incorporated , a leader in test and measurement solutions for today's telecom, wireless and cable networks, today introduced the Voice and Video Test Suite for the Sunset(R) Modular Test Toolkit (MTT), for the first time enabling technicians to validate IPTV and VoIP over DSL service using the popular Sunset MTT test platform. This triple play -- voice, video, data -- test solution provides comprehensive, reliable qualification and service validation of multimedia services over broadband networks. The Voice and Video Test Suite will debut at CeBit Hall 13, Booth C-43, March 15 - 21, 2007.

The Sunset MTT Voice and Video Test Suite gives IPTV and/or VoIP service providers extensive emulation, measurement and network transport analysis capabilities. For IPTV, the new test set validates services and identifies potential issues such as channel zapping delay and Program IDentifier (PID) discovery. Using the new module technicians can measure video stream bandwidth and video transport stream packet analysis, such as packet loss, jitter and latency to help identify any impact to the quality of the video service.

For VoIP testing, technicians can validate VoIP services such as IP phones and VoIP calls and measure the quality of voice using metrics such as MOSS and R-factors. In addition, the new module decodes call signaling messages to assist in troubleshooting call setup and termination.

The DSL modem emulation feature allows field technicians to pass video and voice traffic through to the downstream network. Its IP ping and TRACE route features are useful tools to validate whether or not a particular IP host can be reached through the network. These features combined with the Sunset MTT's standard features make this unit an essential tool for deploying multimedia services.
