Exalead Announces Updated Version of exalead one:enterprise
Offers Unique Developer Toolkit for Web Applications, New APIs, Search Query Operators and Connectors
NEW YORK, Dec. 5 -- Exalead®, a global provider of search software for business and the Web, today announced the availability of exalead one:enterprise(TM) 4.6, a newly updated version of its flagship enterprise search software product.
The release of exalead one:enterprise 4.6 offers several new enhancements that are designed to help organizations easily configure and customize business applications, including hybrid vertical search applications. In addition, exalead one:enterprise 4.6 offers new connectors for enterprise databases and a unique developer toolkit designed to easily structure unstructured data. All features and enhancements are built into exalead one:enterprise at its three core levels -- user, infrastructure and data source -- to allow for organic growth in support of organizations' search and retrieval needs.

Extraction Toolkit to Easily Structure Web Pages
Also included in exalead one:enterprise 4.6 is a unique HTML extraction toolkit, which is designed to take advantage of the structural indicators that are already built-in to HTML pages. The new toolkit is valuable for building vertical search applications, including business intelligence, competitive intelligence, directory, product search and human resources applications, among others, as it allows organizations to easily add structure to unstructured data both inside and outside of the firewall.
Increased Flexibility and Customization for IT Managers and Partners
Exalead has added a variety of new features that will appeal to IT Managers and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners, including several new application programming interfaces (APIs). As a result, exalead one:enterprise can serve as a flexible platform for white box solutions. Included in this latest release are:
o New Push API: Adds the ability to push specific content to Exalead's
index and can be used to develop custom connectors with capabilities
such as linguistic and semantic processing, metadata management,
document conversion and integrated administration.
o New XML Front Search API: Allows enterprises to customize their user
interface (UI) with the same level of search features offered in
Exalead's out-of-the-box UI.
o New API Specification for Alerts: Offers the capability to receive
search results in an RSS format through any RSS reader. The search
query embeds extensions for a number of results, suggested terms and
thumbnail content.
As part of Exalead's goal to continuously enhance the connectivity of exalead one:search(TM), the foundation for all of Exalead's enterprise search solutions, the company also released new and updated connectors with the release of exalead one:enterprise 4.6.
Included is a new enterprise connector for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, allowing Microsoft users to enjoy extremely high scalability -- up to several billion documents -- the ability to index multimedia files, enriched query processing and Exalead's Search by Serendipity(TM) experience. Exalead's search platform is designed to support 64-bit architectures and to easily leverage the power of grid computing to literally scale out and up, while preserving the simplicity and ease-of-use of the SharePoint Server 2007 infrastructure.
In addition, Exalead is offering a new EMC Documentum E-Room connector and an enhanced connector for EMC Documentum Content Server, offering better management, performance and integration.
