Zultys Technologies Releases Multiple Site Capabilities Over IP

MXgroup allows multiple MX250 systems to function as one

SUNNYVALE, CA, 23 February 2004 - Zultys Technologies today announced the worldwide availability of MXgroup, a software option for MX250 systems. MXgroup allows businesses to network their communications across all sites. The network allows separate sites to be treated as a seamless entity, enabling telephony, video, fax, voice mail, instant messaging, and presence across the enterprise, regardless of location.

When enabled on an MX250, MXgroup links the other MX250s in the enterprise over an IP network. MXgroup automatically synchronizes the directory of users across the group. Users can phone any other users by simply dialing their internal extension. Any user can see the presence of any other users within the enterprise and can send them instant messages. Since it does not use publicly accessible paths, MXgroup provides secure communications within the business.

The MX250 is a truly converged product that integrates the functionality of a PBX, fax server, voice mail server, and internet gateway. The MX250 has a host of productivity applications, such as instant messaging, presence, and management of voice mail on a PC. A single MX250 can streamline communications at a single site for 5 to 250 users. The system is 100% based on open standards, including SIP, TAPI, VoiceXML, and Linux.

"Many businesses already have a data network between multiple sites," said Iain Milnes, president of Zultys Technologies. "For the first time, businesses can now easily obtain telephony service over that same link which is integrated with other essential business tools."

Unique to systems of this kind, MXgroup allows foreign login. A user can log into any MX250-anywhere in the system-and appear just as they would at their primary location. This means that anyone inside or outside of the system will continue to dial the same extension, see presence in the same way, and can send instant messages. All communication is seamless and no one needs to know that the person is in a different location. This significantly improves employee productivity and mobility.

With its headquarters in Central Florida, Wave Communication Technologies is working with several corporations that have multiple branch offices and remote employees. "The Zultys MX250 is providing a perfect vehicle to economically connect multiple facilities and manage them in a seamless manner," said Frank McCarthy, President at Wave. "One large customer was able to integrate the legacy PBX and data network at their headquarters with the Zultys MX250, while equipping their branch offices with smaller remote systems and the ZIP 4x4 IP phones. This has allowed them to phase in a total IP solution that fits their budget and time frame, while enjoying immediate productivity benefits. The security, reliability, flexibility, and ease of deployment of Zultys' unique combination of Linux and SIP have proven to be a major attraction to all of the IT Directors we have shown this to."

Available immediately, MXgroup is a software license that can instantly be added to any MX250 system for $7,000. For more information access MXgroup.zultys.com.
