Method Composer Version 2.0 Enables Development of Complex Business Process for Mobile Solutions

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 31 -- Apacheta Corporation today announced the release of its VisualACE(TM) Method Composer(TM) version 2.0 for Microsoft Visual Studio, part of the Apacheta Composite Environment (ACE) for mobile solutions. The VisualACE(TM) Method Composer 2.0 for .NET is the latest version of Apacheta's designer tools for building mobile business application processes. Featuring round-trip engineering from business process workflow diagrams to .NET or Java code and back, the Method Composer 2.0 is a particularly effective tool for managing the development of applications that implement complex processes with a large number of tasks.

Business process Methods are represented as workflows of connected tasks. Individual tasks in each Method are self-contained code components that can be collected into re-usable Method libraries. Any Method can be saved, re-used, or customized to implement a wide variety of business processes that interact with the user and the host programmatic interfaces in a semi-connected mobile environment. With the VisualACE(TM) Method Composer, Methods are created by dragging and dropping tasks and connecting them together to form a unique business process. A composite application can be constructed by combining several Methods together, appearing seamless to the end-user just like traditional monolithic applications.

The Method Composer comes in two forms, both as a standalone application and as an add-in to Visual Studio(R) .NET from Microsoft. When integrated with MS Visual Studio, VisualACE(TM) Method Composer seamlessly interacts with the rest of the IDE allowing a developer to fill in the business logic behind each task using all the standard Visual Studio .NET mechanisms. VisualACE(TM) Method Composer also assures that the .NET framework code is kept in sync when a business process workflow is changed, thus minimizing bugs due to code inconsistencies.

The VisualACE(TM) Method Composer allows a developer to leverage existing solutions and build composite Service Oriented mobile applications with multi- vendor components. Once a Method has been built and deployed, a standalone VisualACE(TM) Method Composer is available for non-developers to optimize the business process and redeploy the changes. For example, a business process could be altered for circumstances like holidays or special promotions without access or visibility to the underlying code.

While there are other diagram-based development tools, such as IBM's Rational Rose(R) and Borland's Together(R) (which work with UML class diagrams), VisualACE(TM) Method Composer is unique in that it provides a unified view of the application to designers, developers, project managers, and customers.

Post deployment, Apacheta's built-in automatic mobile analytics provide developers, process engineers and business managers with the tools necessary to analyze the mobile business processes at a variety of levels. All Apacheta-enabled applications provide an unparalleled view into business processes -- even live and over-the-air if needed -- facilitating the post- mortem analysis of business process or the use of Apacheta-enabled applications as a CRM support tool. Because applications are developed as small tasks linked together with XML to form a workflow process, code updates over wireless are manageable and much more practical than the typical monolithic style of mobile application deployment. Additionally, Method Composer 2.0 includes significant optimizations to the normal data access performance of MS SQLCE and XML in the .NET environment.
