Software bridges gap between CAM systems and HSMs.

Press Release Summary:

Intended for 5-axis machines, CAMplete TruePath(TM) presents tool path data in 3D view, graphical view, tabular posted view, tabular un-posted view, and tree view. Simulation and analysis tools are linked directly to tool path editor so users can immediately see effects of tool path changes. With NC format editor, users can create/edit unlimited G-Code formats and apply them to tool path being edited. Users can also modify tool vectors to avoid machine collision.

Mikron Takes The Guess Work Out of Machining With New Simulation and Post-Processing Software

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL (August 25, 2004) - Mikron Corporation, a leading manufacturer of the widest range of high speed machining (HSM) centers, today announced that it is offering CAMplete TruePath(TM) as an optional software package on all new and existing 5-axis machines. CAMplete TruePath bridges the gap between CAM systems and Mikrons's High-Speed Five-Axis Machines, providing everything needed to analyze, modify, optimize and simulate tool paths in a seamless five-view, 3D environment.

CAMplete TruePath presents tool path data in five linked ways: 3D view, graphical view, tabular posted view, tabular un-posted view and tree view. With real-time simulation capabilities, CAMplete's simulation and analysis tools are linked directly to the tool path editor so users can immediately see the effects of tool path changes, as well as the difference between the programmed and actual path a tool will follow during five-axis machining. Users can also instantly find over-travel cutter positions without running a machine simulation, and detect and avoid costly machine and tool collisions.

"The CAMplete TruePath system is an ideal complement to Mikron's high-speed five-axis machines. Now instead of blindly sending the output of a CAM system through a post-processor to a Mikron 5-axis machine, users can see in real-time exactly how the machine will run," states Mal Sudhakar, VP of Mikron."Edits are easy to make and the code is instantly updated. The end result is superior machined parts using a process that saves time and money."

Featuring a sophisticated tool path editor, CAMplete TruePath allows modification of posted or un-posted tool path data. Changes are automatically updated to both the tool path and G-code, regardless of which was edited, eliminating the need to post and un-post data. Tool path editing functions include: cut/copy/paste, drag/drop, reorder, reverse, and split combine paths, passes and positions.

Standard Mikron post formats have been integrated into CAMplete TruePath for quick and easy start-up. The NC format editor allows users to simply create/edit unlimited custom G-Code formats and apply them instantly to the tool path being edited. Users are also able to manage cutting tools using G-Code commands or simply selecting from a tool database. In addition, users are able to modify tool vectors to avoid machine collision by typing a new rotary position in G-Code or manipulating the vector graphically. Additional add-ons are available.
